malted milk crepes

Got chocolate malt powder? You've got an easy chocolate dessert recipe that's perfect for Valentine's Day or any day of the week.

Enjoy old-fashioned recipes like the ones they used to serve in soda shops?

If so, you'll love this recipe for chocolate malt crepes!

Top them with chocolate pudding, ice cream, or even Chocolate Mousse.

Don't forget the cherry!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz. of semisweet chocolate (morsels or bar chocolate)
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ cup of half and half
  • 2 tbsp of chocolate malt powder (We used Ovaltine)
  • 1 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs

Yield: 12 chocolate crepes

Pour milk into small sauce pan and heat gently. Combine chocolate with milk. If using bar chocolate, break into pieces before combining. Stir gently until chocolate is completely melted.

Combine chocolate and milk mixture and remaining ingredients into blender and process until smooth. Important: Refrigerate the batter for at least 30 minutes. This gives the batter the opportunity to rest and fully come together.

Suggested: Fold three crepes into triangles and finish with your choice of toppings, including chocolate pudding as above, or even ice cream and our fresh raspberry sauce.

If desired, top with crushed malted milk balls!
